For this reason, the company has decided to introduce a specific policy on sustainability with the aim of enhancing sustainability integration into the company’s strategy and operations. The introduction of this policy highlights Hydro’s commitment to the management of social and environmental issues.

The ESG Strategy for Hydro is divided into five macro-pillars identified as priorities for the Group: Customers, People, Environment, Suppliers and Community, which also represent Hydro’s main stakeholders, whose interests, expectations and needs must constantly be the guiding principle for corporate strategic decisions.

CUSTOMERS

 

Hydro Holding is aware of its crucial role in the customers’ value chain and, therefore, is committed to offering quality products through the continuous improvement of its processes. Hydro Holding is also committed to ensuring transparency and collaboration in customers relationships to continuously improving its ability to meet their needs, offering products and services of excellence, which are, where possible, customised according to customer requirements. The Group is constantly committed to innovating its offerings by promoting the integration of sustainability criteria to address customers’ growing attention to social and environmental issues.

Hydro Holding is aware that people represent the engine of the company and the channel through which to offer quality products and generate new ideas. Hydro Holding therefore believes that the ability to attract and retain the best talents is crucial to create value in the long term, and for this reason it is committed to enhancing the value of its human resources starting from the selection process and throughout their career, investing in their well-being and professional development. In particular, the Group considers the training and updating of its employees’ skills to be indispensable resources for its own success and competitiveness; to this end, it promotes continuous learning and designs training courses aimed at enriching skills and abilities and favouring professional growth, accompanying its employees in the construction of their future.

Women represent 36% of the Group’s workforce as of December 2023.

Hydro Holding is aware that its activties impact the environment and, therefore, invests significant resources to improve its environmental performance. At the same time, Hydro Holding is committed to measuring the impacts of its services and products throughout their entire life cycle, in the constant search for strategies aimed at reducing the environmental impacts of internal production processes and our supply chain.
The Group uses sustainable technologies to reduce the risks associated with climate change through the use, where possible, of renewable energy and the improvement of the energy efficiency of its plants.

We obtained ISO 14001 certification in 2024.

SUPPLIERS

 

For Hydro Holding, excellence means not only product quality and safety but also a commitment to promoting a supply chain that respects workers’ rights and the environment. Suppliers are strategic partners, and the Group aims to establish trust-based relationships that last over the long term, while also fostering dialogue and mutual collaboration. Attention to the responsible management of the supply chain begins with the initial stage of supplier selection and continues over time through periodic monitoring and engagement activities.

Hydro Holding is committed to pursuing respect for the highest ethical standards of protection of human rights and human dignity along the entire supply chain, but also to promoting and marketing products coming from ethically managed supply chains, which guarantee compliance with environmental and social sustainability requirements .

The Board of Directors of Hydro approved a Supplier Code of Conduct aiming at ensuring the integrity of Hydro’s operations and compliance with the company’s principles. The Code is reviewed periodically to ensure that it remains aligned with regulatory updates, stakeholder expectations, and industry standards.
The Code of Conduct was shared with all Hydro’s Suppliers.

COMMUNITIES 

 

Hydro Holding actively supports the economic and social growth of communities by , generating employment opportunities and contributing to the economic development of the regions in which it operates. Specifically, 80% of the workforce is composed of individuals from the municipalities near the production sites.
